OUR HISTORY
Gelato was always a life long passion of Gianni, the founder. His memories as a child growing up he would spend his summer holidays in Italy where he would look forward to the taste of gelato and has always wanted to bring that experience and flavour back home and share it with everyone.
We first starting producing gelato in 2011 in the family’s restaurant. Quickly people appreciated the quality and freshness of this artisan product and it became renowned locally. In 2015 Gelato John’s was born and started as a vintage ‘Piaggio Ciao Porter’ tricycle, serving gelato and sorbetto at weddings and other events.
Currently we are working on building a network of concessions and shops that are built on the same simple philosophy, that every site should make fresh gelato and it should be made with fresh milk, cream and the best ingredients available.

OUR GELATO
The different Gelato flavours are made using a neutral base called ‘Fiore di Latte’. Our recipe is made using fresh whole milk and double cream. We use real nut paste for our Nociola and the Pistachio is from Bronte region in Sicily. Chocolate flavours are made using the highest quality of chocolate and cocoa. Real fruit purees are used in our Gelato and Sorbetto; which is a great option for those with lactose intolerance and even though it doesn’t contain any dairy, still offers a smooth and creamy feel.

OUR PIAGGIO CIAO PORTER
Why not treat your guests to probably the finest gelato this side of Italy served by your very own gelataio from one of Italy’s most iconic machines.
The bike consists of a specially made hold over box formed from special insulation that once reached the perfect temperature it will hold the gelato at the perfect serving temperature for hours and hours without the need of electricity, making it suitable for any event in any location.
The Piaggio Ciao Porter can hold sufficient gelato to cater a gathering of 50 to 300 guests and offers customers a choice of up to four flavours.
